Lunch N’ Learns: In-person Educational Training, Sporting Lessons, Operational Tours, Site Visits of Maritime Companies, & Maritime Industry Expert Webinars

Member-only harbor tug in partnership with G&H Towing! WIMOs Members boarded the harbor tug in the Port of Corpus Christi for a vessel tour and the opportunity to get underway.

Golf Lessons provide an opportunity for members to learn how to play golf and develop the skills needed to participate in industry tournaments. Designed for beginners & those looking to improve, the program covers swing techniques, putting, course etiquette, and strategy. By gaining confidence on the course, members be included in future tournaments rather than being left on the sidelines.

WIMOs members had an exciting Lunch N' Learn at San Jacinto College Maritime Campus, taking the helm in a hands-on ship simulator! From navigating virtual waters to connecting with fellow maritime professionals, it was a day filled with learning, laughter, and inspiration. An unforgettable experience empowering women to chart their course in the maritime industry!

Gulf Copper's impressive facilities, gaining firsthand insights into ship repair, maintenance, and offshore asset support. From touring historic vessels to seeing cutting-edge maritime operations up close, it showcased the vital role of shipyards in the offshore industry.

WIMOs members enjoyed an exciting behind-the-scenes experience at a ARCOSA?, witnessing the launch of a newly built hopper barge via a rail system. Before the big splash, attendees toured the facility, learning about the construction process and examining the barge up on blocks. The thrilling launch, combined with great company and hands-on learning, made for an unforgettable day!
WIMOs members gathered at the Columbia River Maritime Museum for an day immersed in maritime history. Through engaging exhibits and expert discussions, attendees explored the legacy of seafaring in the Pacific Northwest. Ship models, navigational instruments, and historic artifacts provided a deeper understanding of life on the water.

Members enjoyed a hands-on experience at Marquette Transportation. The group learned the fundamentals of securing barges for towing, practiced knot-tying, line throwing, and got up close with tow equipment—all while connecting with fellow women in the maritime industry.

Hiller hosted a hands-on Fire Safety Awareness Training, where members practiced using fire extinguishers on a controlled fire under expert guidance. The session reinforced fire emergency preparedness, ensuring participants gained confidence in handling fire hazards.

WIMOs members participated in a comprehensive shotgun lesson designed to enhance their firearm handling skills, accuracy, and shooting etiquette. Led by experienced instructors, the session covered proper stance, aiming techniques, and safe gun handling. This training prepared members to confidently engage in maritime industry clay shoots, fostering camaraderie.

The WIMOs Student Chapter attended a Lunch N' Learn hosted by G & H Towing, gaining insights into the maritime industry and career opportunities. Representatives shared knowledge and answered questions as attendees networked over lunch, connecting education with real-world careers.

WIMOs members joined an exclusive webinar exploring a day in the life of a yacht club Harbor Master, offering insights into maritime careers, harbor operations, yacht clubs, harbors, and their management.

The webinar highlighted how meteorological insights enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in global shipping. With rising climate volatility, weather risk management is vital to protect lives, cargo, and the environment.

WIMOween is an annual fundraiser and costume party hosted by the Southern Louisiana Chapter. Proceeds support women’s education and career opportunities in maritime in Southern Louisiana. Spooky fun!

The West Kentucky Chapter's annual Karaoke Night Fundraiser brings together professionals from across the maritime industry for an evening of networking and fun! They enjoy a lively night featuring awards for Best Vocals, Best Performance, and Crowd Favorite—plus delicious appetizers and an open bar.

WIMOs recently hosted its inaugural networking and recruiting event in the Bayou, bringing together 15 women from across the maritime industry. This event is part of WIMOs’ ongoing effort to grow its community through several recruiting events held throughout the year, open to both members and non-members.
